ventilation products and systems used in apartment buildings

Products

General Extract

Ventalution supplies a comprehensive range of extract capability and solutions by utilizing many different types of its unique general extract fans, low-pressure duct components and any special parts required. Fans and duct systems are primarily designed to be either concrete slab or soffit mounted and regardless of ceiling void depths, normally only the fan covers are visible to the dwelling occupants. Semi Recessed, Surface Mounted and Inline Fans are available as an option.

Cooker Hoods

The performance of many of the standard fans supplied within cooker hoods is often insufficient to meet Building Regulations, particularly when extract duct paths are long and complex. Ventalution offers a range of fans whose performance overcomes these problems.

Apartment System

A major part of Ventalution's success has been built upon the foundations of its "Apartment System". By designing each component for its specific purpose and by integrating each component into the overall Apartment system (in its many forms) this integrated product range has found favour with the most prestigious architects, consulting engineers and developers and has become a resounding success.

Among the many attributes of Ventalution's apartment system are: Ease of system design by virtue of the integrated components available resulting in a cost effective system, Including its High efficiency fans, low pressure swept bends, special duct parts and free flow outlets. Resulting in low levels of noise in the Fan, Duct System and Outlet. The overriding reason that the product has been so popular is the overall quality, ease of installation, its effectiveness and the comprehensive level of technical support provided by Ventalution to its customers

The Ventalution Mev-3 *** is a continuous Mechanical Extract Fan Unit

The product was originally designed to provide whole house ventilation by means of continuous extract ventilation in accordance with BRE Digest 39. September 1994. With the emphasis now very much on performance, the MEV-3*** Fan Unit and integrated duct system is an excellent way of meeting the requirements as shown in the new Building Regulation Document- F1 Means of Ventilation.

The system is designed to run continuously and results in a complete change of air throughout the dwelling at least once every 2 hours or at a greater level to meet specific requirements.

The cabinet, which houses the extract fan and other ancillary components, is of compact dimensions, relative to the performance it provides. The number of ancillary components and type required is dependant on the specification of the system, system control and the performance requirements.

The cabinet has one outlet port and three inlet ports and has been designed for connection to industry standard 204mm x 60mm plastic duct, both on the inlet and outlet ports. Performance of the unit is such that large round duct is not required. Other types, sizes and configurations of duct can be used as a preference or an option using the appropriate Ventalu components.

Special duct parts, airbrick outlets and connectors etc. manufactured by Ventalution Ltd, can increase the versatility, design options and performance of the system.

Whole House Ventilation with Air Filtration and Heat Recovery

Ventalution's continuing drive to design and develop ventilation products that meet the increasingly challenging demands of new Building Regulations has resulted in the launch of a new range of MEHR Units, the Ventalution MEHR Compact Maxi, MEHR Compact Super and the MEHR Major.

Ventalution's design philosophy is to create products that are superior in performance, smaller in size and sympathetic to the physical installation constraints that exist on site. The current Building Regulations defines what is required to provide adequate ventilation. and whilst there are a number of ways in which the requirements can be achieved the design of Ventalution's 'Whole House' and 'Whole House with Heat Recovery' systems are rapidly gaining favour with Architects and Consulting engineers as the way forward. The many advantages that the centralized systems provide include greatly improved air quality, decreased humidity, removal of allergens and energy savings through the recovery of heat from the extracted stale air. Further benefits are achieved through a significant reduction in fan noise, improved aesthetics, and a "fit it and forget" extract system as far as the end user is concerned, apart from periodic maintenance requirements.

Features

The smaller models;
Ventalution MEHR Compact Maxi and Super, enables installation into confined spaces e.g. kitchen cupboard or small storage cupboard. They are normally wall mounted but can also be mounted horizontally with the use of a special cradle. Performance of these units is such that they are ideally suited to the average size apartment.

The Major Model provides a higher performance for large apartments and dwellings where there is a requirement for higher air flow volumes often against more system pressure in complex duct runs.

Ventalution special parts allow for connection to industry standard rectangular plastic ducting connected directly to the cabinet resulting in fewer parts. Other special parts available from Ventalution, increase the system design options, improve air flow, reduce system pressure, reduce system noise and contribute towards a cost effective installation.

All products within the range include cabinets made of Thermo Plastic resulting in minimal noise and vibration levels, superior thermal insulation and improved aesthetics.

Alternative Fans utilized within the cabinets enable maximum performance for specific situations to be achieved.

Rectangular plastic ducting, used in conjunction with Ventalution components facilitates bespoke solutions to specific situations.

Bespoke component design and manufacture also provide solutions to unusual and difficult site conditions.

Each of the MEHR products listed are designed to include a heat recovery capability that extracts a percentage of the warmth from the outgoing stale air and transfers it to the fresh air being drawn in and distributed to the dry rooms in the dwelling.

AntiFire Sleeves

An In house designed and independently tested Product, Ventalution AntiFire Sleeves are designed and proven to stop the spread of fire through a duct run, where that duct run passes through a dry lined stud wall. They are equally effective in a masonry wall. Five types/ sizes of AntiFire Sleeves are currently available. All have been tested in accordance with the temperature and pressure conditions given in BS 476:Part 20:1 1987 and the General Principles of Part 22:1987.
